About Kid Fish |
KIDFISH is an outreach program designed to educate and provide hands
on fishing experience to children of all ages. During KIDFISH, children
participate in a "KIDFISH College" presentation teaching them about
fishing, conservation, and respect for the environment, the fish, and
other anglers. Upon completion of this brief presentation they receive a
"Bachelors of Angling" Degree and are allowed to fish.
KIDFISH Fort Worth generously stocks the Greenbriar Community Lake prior to fishing to increase their odds of a memorable fishing experience of a memorable fishing experience. Everything your child will need to catch fish (re: rod, reel, bait and tackle) will be provided to those who need it. Volunteers will be on hand to assist you and your child catch the fish stocked for the KIDFISH event. The event is FREE. Prizes are awarded for the top fund-raiser,
including a special trophy. The top 5 overall fund-raisers will receive
an additional prize of A special trophy and ZEBCO Combo or Tackle Box will be awarded to the child who catches the longest fish in their age group, 6-under, 7-11, and 12-16. Who are KIDFISH participants? * Children 16 and under. The average age
of a KIDFISH participant is 8 years old. The Mission of The KIDFISH Program is to: Introduce as many children and their family members as possible to the fun of fishing through local based community KIDFISH events. Educate children and their families through the KIDFISH College presentation about the importance of conservation and stewardship of our natural resources. Create future fishing opportunities for our participants and communities through BiAnnual adult fish stockings at all public access KIDFISH sites. Goal: To reach 10,000,000 people with KIDFISH
